Job Title: Aquatics Support ( Manager on Duty)


Reports to: Aquatic Lead/Integrator- (Manager on Duty)


Hours: 20 +/- Admin hours per week working closely with the Aquatics Lead and 15 +/- hours supplemental “in business” hours in various departments as needed. Departments include Swim Coach, Sweet Pea's coach, Sales, Head Coaching, and Infant/Toddler coach.


Rate of Pay: $20- DOE upon experience.

Summary Statement: Under the supervision of the Aquatic Lead, act as Aquatic Support, for the day-to-day operations and special projects identified by the Aquatic Lead. This includes designated Head Coach, Sales, MOD, and Water shifts. This position will also support mentoring/training coaches, assisting with Lifeguard certifications of staff, and administrative duties. This position is predominantly evening and weekend shifts with the flexibility to modify but to ensure proper coverage for all days and times of operation of a 7-day-a-week buisness.


Required Experience: provide relevant experience in a resume, cover letter, or application

  • Minimum of 1 year of Learn to Swim /Swim instructor/ Coaching or other aquatics industry profession.
  • Minimum 1 year working with children/teens



Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assists with training, supervising, and mentoring Sales/Aquatics/Sweet Peas staff. Identifies and recommends additional training needed for staff.

2. Daily review of sensitive information.

3. When requested, responds to customer inquiries, emails, and telephone calls.

4. Communicates orally and in writing with staff, families, and guests.

5. Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned, such as updating/tracking photo walls of coaches, parent communication, and scheduling training hours for new employees.

6. Helps with creating Google Classroom(s) for Aquatics.

7. Assists with scheduling and mentoring for Aquatics.

8. Assists with Aquatics meetings and All Staff meetings and training.


Work Week: Weekends (7:30 am-1:30 pm) and evenings ( 3pm-7 pm). To be reviewed and approved by Aquatics Lead/Integrator and approved by Owner/Visionary.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Demonstrates flexibility and willingness to learn.

· Familiar with the SwimAmerica teaching curriculum and work culture.

· Familiar with basic pool operations, including water safety and pool chemical checks.

· MOD-trained.

· Follows through on all tasks.

· Experience supervising, training, and managing multiple staff in the field of customer service.

· Experience handling difficult, sensitive, and/or confidential issues.

· Demonstrates time management and organizational skills.

· Demonstrates excellent competency in oral and written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

· Exerts professionalism, diplomacy, and tact when interacting with individuals from all backgrounds.

· Wear appropriate uniform – clean and tidy.

· Experience managing digital registration programs.

· Experience with computer software programs like Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and creation of spreadsheets.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Thrives in a fast-paced work environment.

Organizational Relationships:

Works regularly with Leadership Team (Visionary/Owner, Sales Lead, Aquatics Lead/Integrator, Sweet Peas Lead, Marketing Lead)—per Accountability Chart. Contact with MOD (Manager on Duty), swim coaches, sales staff, parents, participants, and vendors as necessary.

The employee may occasionally lift to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close, distance, and peripheral vision and the ability to adjust focus.
