Phase 1 Utility new hire in training. Under general supervision, learning to work in the various utility positions for the Phase 1 operation. Initially will learn to cut strings on the Mixing Line, then to fill and check water either on the Mix Line or the flips. Responsible for learning and following all applicable SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures).

Candidate will be partnered up with an experienced Phase 1 Utility worker to learn the process. This training will include but not be limited to:

  • Cutting strings at the Mixing Line.
  • Clean and prep bunkers to fill.
  • Filling and checking water both at the Mixing Line and on the flips.
  • Washing Bunkers.
  • Cleaning around the Phase I area.

All new hire Utility Trainees will be required to attend safety meetings within the first two weeks to cover Phase 1 specific topics such as Loader Safety, LOTO & Machine Guarding, ect. Phase 1 Workers are required to report maintenance needs, repairs, and damaged equipment to Management.

Phase I Utility Trainees are required to work 6 days per week. They should arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled start time and will stay until the work is completed, typically 10 hours/ day however will vary depending on production. A 15-minute coffee break is allotted in the morning along with a ½ hour for lunch later in the day. Start time will typically be 3:00am but can vary depending on production needs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred
  • Experience in a mushroom facility is always a plus.
  • Ability to follow directions and perform in a team environment.
  • The ability to keep and transport equipment from one task to another efficiently and safely.
  • Ability to communicate with Supervisors and Managers.
  • Training and company certification for operating a forklift will be required prior to promotion from this position.
