Job Title: Windows System Administrator
Location: Belvidere, NJ
Term: 6 months+ (potentially extendable)
Pay Range: Commensurate with expertise

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Windows System Administrator to join our team in Belvidere, NJ, to oversee and maintain our Windows server environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of Windows Server (2016 or greater) and be able to guide others in areas such as Active Directory (A/D) replication, DNS, user authorization, Group Policy, and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of administrators, providing guidance and support in managing Windows server systems.
  • Create and manage group policies, ensuring proper application and adherence to organizational standards.
  • Review and refine existing group policies, documenting changes and ensuring alignment with business requirements.
  • Understand and oversee DNS replication processes, troubleshooting issues and documenting solutions as needed.
  • Conduct thorough assessments of current system configurations, documenting the current state and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop comprehensive workload documents for all systems, providing detailed insights for new team members.
  • Manage Windows servers (2016 to present), including migration planning and execution (e.g., migrating from Windows Server 2012 to 2020).
  • Monitor and maintain backup systems, ensuring data integrity and compliance with backup policies.
  • Oversee virtualized environments, including Hyper-V and VMware, ensuring optimal performance and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to support organizational initiatives and projects.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Windows system administration, with expertise in Windows Server (2016 or greater) environments.
  • Proficiency in Active Directory, DNS, Group Policy, and other core Windows server technologies.
  • Experience in creating and managing group policies, ensuring alignment with organizational requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Excellent documentation skills, with the ability to create clear and detailed documentation following provided templates.
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V and VMware.
  • Ability to lead and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with team members and stakeholders.
