Job Summary:

The Packaging Manager is a dynamic and experienced operative who will oversee all packaging operations at Michele’s Granola. The ideal candidate will be a continuous improvement leader, have a strong management background, excellent planning and coaching skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of sanitation, safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and innovation. Additionally, candidates will be expected to have experience with highly complex packaging automation.


Key Responsibilities:

· Lead and manage the packaging team across two shifts, setting clear performance goals and providing ongoing feedback and support.

· Oversee the planning and execution of packaging operations to meet production schedules and customer demands.

· Ensure packaging areas meet or exceed sanitation standards, implementing and enforcing sanitation procedures in collaboration with the food safety team.

· Drive safety initiatives by enforcing safety policies, conducting audits, and training staff on safety protocols.

· Maintain high-quality packaging standards through regular inspections and addressing quality issues promptly.

· Optimize delivery schedules in collaboration with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.

· Analyze packaging processes to identify areas for improvement, implementing best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

· Foster a culture of continuous improvement by mentoring and developing team members, identifying training needs, and promoting professional growth.

· Lead continuous improvement of packaging operations in cooperation with the Continuous Improvement Manager

· Participate in the recruitment and onboarding of packaging staff, ensuring a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

· Lead the optimization of existing packaging technology as well as the identification and implementation of new technologies as required

· Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in packaging technology, implementing innovative solutions to improve operations.


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Science, Packaging, or Engineering preferred.

· 4-5 years of active management experience in a CPG manufacturing setting.

· Proven leadership experience within packaging or manufacturing environments, with a strong focus on automation and continuous improvement.

· Expertise in packaging processes, materials, and equipment, with experience in installation required

· Experience with the startup of packaging automation preferred.

· Proficient in MS Office 365 and ERP systems; SAP Business One experience preferred.

· Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
