Job Title: Mobile Health Unit Coordinator

Job Summary: The Mobile Health Unit Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising the activities of Camarena Health’s two mobile health units. This includes managing the unit's scheduling, logistics, staffing, and resources to ensure the efficient delivery of medical and dental services to targeted communities throughout Madera and Mariposa County. The coordinator also plays a pivotal role in liaising with community partners, promoting and marketing the mobile health units, outreach and community engagement, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Mobile Health Unit Operations:
    • Plan and organize the schedule and routes for the mobile health unit to reach various locations within the designated area.
    • Work with care teams to ensure that the mobile unit is stocked with necessary medical supplies, equipment, and medications.
    • Coordinate with healthcare professionals and support staff to staff the mobile unit during operational hours.
    • Drive, maintain and set up units as needed. Provide staff training on how to drive and operate units as needed. (Mobile Unit Drivers Training will be provided for both units)
    • Oversee the setup and breakdown of the mobile unit at each location, ensuring a safe and functional environment for healthcare delivery.
  2. Staff Management:
    • Train and Support identified care team and support staff working on the mobile health unit to ensure delivery of services and community engagement
    • Provide ongoing guidance, support, and performance feedback to staff members.
  3. Healthcare Service Delivery:
    • Collaborate with mobile health care team to identify and implement healthcare programs, screenings, and services that align with the needs of the target population and communities served.
    • Ensure that proper medical procedures, protocols, and safety standards are followed during service delivery.
    • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, adhering to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
  4. Community Engagement:
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with community leaders, organizations, and local authorities to identify healthcare needs and preferences.
    • Conduct outreach and educational programs to raise awareness about the mobile health unit's services and benefits.
    • Partner with community organizations, schools, and county agencies to offer mobile health services to individuals and families.
  5. Logistics and Resources:
    • Monitor and manage the inventory of medical supplies, equipment, and medications on the mobile unit.
    • Coordinate with procurement and supply chain departments to ensure a steady supply of necessary items.
    • Maintain the mobile unit's vehicle or equipment, arranging for regular maintenance and repairs.
  6. Reporting and Compliance:
    • Prepare and submit regular reports on the mobile unit's operations, services provided, and patient outcomes.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in a health science, public or community health program or a Certified Medical Assistant or LVN.
  • Must have a valid CA driver’s license and proof of insurance
  • Experience in healthcare administration, healthcare mobile health services, or community outreach and engagement.
  • Strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing situations.
  • Familiar with or have experience in healthcare delivery models
  • Proficiency in using computer software for documentation and reporting.
