Fotokite is seeking a Hardware Test Engineer with a strong focus on Electrical Engineering to enhance our team's product testing capabilities. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with electrical test equipment as well as the interpretation and analysis of test data essential for verifying and validating product specifications. This role requires the ability to analyze circuits and develop comprehensive test plans to identify, isolate and document board level anomalies. Duties in this role include designing actionable validation and verification tests, troubleshooting hardware failures, collaborating with design teams to improve hardware designs, and developing diagnostic tools and methodologies to enhance overall product reliability and performance.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conducts rigorous validation and verification tests on hardware components and systems to ensure they meet design specifications and performance requirements.
  • Identifies, documents, and troubleshoots hardware failures or discrepancies, working closely with the design team to diagnose issues and recommend improvements.
  • Works closely with electrical and hardware design teams to provide feedback and insights from test results, contributing to the iterative design improvement process.
  • Utilizes and develops advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify, document, and resolve electrical issues, enhancing the reliability and performance of hardware products.
  • Supports the continuous improvement of hardware testing methodologies and quality assurance processes to enhance product reliability and performance.
  • Continuously refines testing processes and methodologies to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness of electrical hardware testing.
  • Provides technical support to manufacturing and support teams, assisting with the implementation of hardware modifications and updates as needed.
  • Additional responsibilities assigned as required.


Education/Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or any other related technical field.
  • Electrical engineering design experience with custom special test equipment is highly desired.
  • Proven knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical test equipment, circuit analysis, and diagnostics tools.
  • System modeling and analysis experience using MATLAB, Simulink, or other comparable tools is a plus.
  • Experience with low level hardware interfacing, Linux, small-scale manufacturing or product assembly is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with robotics, drones, UAS or UAV systems is a plus
  • Applicants should be self-motivated with strong problem solving skills.
  • Excellent analytical, time-management and verbal / written communications skills.

 

Compensation & benefits

  • Salary range of $70k–$90k (salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data)
