Who We Serve:

EMT serves organizations in the St. Louis, Missouri metro and surrounding areas, including neighboring areas in Illinois, as well as Cumberland, Maryland. These organizations include school districts, hospitals, doctor's offices, and more. We also transport individuals and families to and from appointments or simply when they need a ride.


Position Summary

Join our dedicated team of professionals in providing compassionate and reliable transportation for individuals in need of non-emergency transportation services. The Driver Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of our fleet, ensuring that passenger routes are executed efficiently while maintaining the highest standards of safety and customer service.


Essential Functions:

  • Oversee daily operations of the driver team to ensure timely and efficient dispatching of drivers.
  • Assign routes and schedules to drivers, considering traffic patterns and route priorities.
  • Monitor drivers' performance, provide coaching and feedback to improve productivity and compliance with safety standards.
  • Maintain clear and open communication with drivers, providing support and guidance for any on-road issues that arise.
  • Collaborate with the Operations manager to optimize delivery routes and improve overall operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all vehicles are properly maintained, coordinating repairs and regular maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Enforce company policies and compliance with transportation regulations, including hours of service and passenger limits.
  • Address customer service concerns related to routes, offering timely and effective resolutions.
  • Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify opportunities for improvement in the dispatch process.
  • Use dispatch software and GPS tracking systems to monitor real-time vehicle locations and manage the flow of drivers.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and reports on driver routes, routes on time, payroll processing, and time off request.
  • Manage emergency situations or unexpected delays, re-routing drivers as necessary to maintain service levels.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as Customer Service and Fleet Maintenance and Repair
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in transportation or logistics is a plus

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a supervisory role within the transportation or logistics industry

Abilities:

  • Valid class E driver’s license with a clean driving record, or the ability to obtain a Class E driver’s license within 60 days of hire.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in dispatch software and GPS tracking systems
  • Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards
  • Ability to effectively manage and schedule a team of drivers
  • Experience in route planning and optimization
  • Ability to train and mentor new drivers
  • Basic mechanical knowledge to address vehicle maintenance concerns
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications
