Job DescriptionPosition Summary: This part-time position will work in a supporting role to our store operations team 3-4 days a week. This team member is responsible for assisting with breaking down weekly store shipments, counting inventory, adding price tags to items and stocking shelves according to the planogram.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Shipping & Receiving:
- Receive weekly store merchandise that comes into the store and check pallets for damaged or missing items.
- Ensure that the merchandise is unloaded and put away in the warehouse according to the established procedures.
- Assemble inventory for special customer orders.
- Sort and organize Exchangeware (previously used tableware) pallets for customer purchases.
Store Operations:
- Assist with maintenance of store inventory through cycle counting.
- Create price tags for individual items and stock shelves according to the planograms.
- Dispose of cardboard trash and manage cleanliness of Loading Dock area.
- Clean and maintain warehouse sample pieces.
Sales & Marketing:
- Provide customer service when working on the sales floor arranging merchandise by answering questions.
- Back-up assistance to register sales associates with customer check-outs as needed.
- Occasional Saturday shifts to assist with store sales/events.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- One - Three years experience in a strong retail sales, warehouse, or similar environment.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Excellent time management, organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as a contributing team member.
- High energy and motivated self-starter who makes a positive first impression on all customer interactions.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
Additional Information
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- The staff member frequently is required to reach with hands and arms. The staff member must regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus as necessary to read a computer monitor and sticker pricing machine.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, in the English language, as this is essential to communicating information to supervisors, coworkers and customers in a way that they can understand.
- Ability to operate a pallet jack.
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to work under stress, interruptions and tight deadlines.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret purchase orders that are in English.
- Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information, and respond to questions from supervisors, customers, and sales / store staff.
- Ability to prioritize work, problem solve, and answer questions.
ESSENTIAL TECHNICAL SKILLS:
- Experience with warehouse management system preferred.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft software including MS Outlook, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively with co-workers in order to prioritize workflow, request assistance if needed and assist others in achieving company goals.
