Evaluation Internship


Summary
The Creative Discovery Museum has an active evaluation program to track, document, and understand visitor experiences, as well as exhibit and program effectiveness and impact. The Museum is seeking an intern to help the Evaluation & Audience Specialist further this work. This position will be a paid position. The Museum's intended impact is for children and families to engage in playful experiences that spark new passions, expand their curiosity, and deepen connections to their community and world.

Internship Description
Interns will gain real world experience through assisting the Evaluation & Audience Specialist with evaluating the exhibits and programs. Interns will help with multiple projects, including formative, remedial, and summative evaluation projects. Possible internship tasks include:
•Collecting quantitative and qualitative data for exhibit and program evaluation
•Unobtrusive observations of visitor use of exhibits and programs
•Interviewing visitors and program participants about their experience, feedback, and opinions
•Transcribing and entering data into databases for analysis
•Preparing preliminary written reports with basic data analysis and visualization

•Data management skills in Excel
•Communication skills including oral and written
•Strengthened decision making skills
•Professional development opportunities including networking

Requirements: Interns should have:
•Preferred Research and Analysis and/or Statistic course
•Preferred completion of a child development course
•Have strong oral and written communication skills
•Strong social skills and enjoy facilitating conversations
•Be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
•Have strong time management skills and be a self-starter
•Be available weekends and occasional evenings
