Recreation Instructor

Easterseals Massachusetts is seeking a Recreation Instructor to join our team at our location in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. Recreation Instructor will provide direct support to participants at Easterseals Massachusetts The Bridge Center during recreational activities.

General Job Responsibilities

  • Leading group activities, adapting aspects of activities to ensure successful participation by all participants
  • Creating, analyzing, and implementing art activities for each group based on appropriate age and skill level. Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
  • Accurate documentation, monitoring progress, following safety protocols. Encouraging participant independence and building good relationships with participants, peers, and other professionals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (or in progress) or higher in education, therapy, or recreation preferred
  • Ability and desire to work with people of all ages and disabilities
  • Children & Adult First Aid, CPR/AED Certification
  • Knowledge of the needs of participants who have behavioral, learning, and/or physical disabilities and experience teaching or running groups/classes is preferred
