AMMO, Inc. is seeking an individual with the drive and determination to become a successful Tool Control Technician in an ammunitions manufacturing environment. Position Overview:

As a Tool Control Technician you are the necessary support to the production floor in providing tooling and tool sets. Additionally, providing cleaning, evaluation, refurbishment, storage, distribution and inventory control as required to ensure smooth workflow.


Responsibilities of a Tool Control Technician include:

  • Keep accurate records, including closing/printing PM work orders, and orders materials on a min/max ordering system, setting appropriate lead times on each.
  • Issues items to the production floor and reorders as necessary.
  • Ensures spare parts inventory is received, maintained, and distributed according to specified procedures.
  • Prepares and audits spare parts requisitions for purchase.
  • Keeps daily reporting current with status of spare parts.
  • Controls access to the spare parts crib.
  • Assigns work order numbers to spare parts as well as prepares spare parts as required.
  • Distributing tooling and tool kits as required to support the production floor. Review production schedules, creation of pick lists, location of tools, picking of tools and movement of tools to the press as necessary.
  • Preset and/or assembly of tooling as required to prepare tooling for set-up and installation at the press. Punches are assembled and pre-set in holders, die inserts assembled and extra slides prepared, when possible, to reduce set-up time at the press.
  • Use system inquires to determine status of tools on order to ensure tool availability to meet press schedules. Includes expedite/de-expedite of tools as required to meet schedule. Strong communication with production control to advise of potential problems and lack of tooling for pending production.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • High School diploma
  • Prior industrial experience preferred but not required
  • Skilled in performing detailed work with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
