Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPosition Overview: Work includes various routine and semi-routine assignment planning, layout, set up, operating and making tool adjustments for various types of manuals, NC and CNC machine shop equipment.  Under general supervision, works from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production od machine parts, which may include the cutting and shaping of metal, and other materials, to precision dimensions. May communicate directly with engineers to understand the purpose of a part assembly. Checks and inspects machining operations against specified tolerances. May need to identify and repair minor machine malfunctions/ Troubleshooting.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture and inspects detailed parts and tools from blueprints, sketches, drawings and verbal instructions using a variety of machining tools and equipment (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, jig bores and other machining equipment) and using mat.
  • Has previous knowledge with setting up machine fixtures, Bases, and tool staging on Haas Mills based on instructions received.
  • Preferred experience in obtaining part location offsets and setting tool offsets regularly.
  • Prove out CNC programs when required.
  • Perform minor repairs of equipment.
  • Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards.  Maintain acceptable quality and efficiency level.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school or equivalent
  • Technical/trade school
  • 2-3 years’ CNC Mill experience
Desired Skills and Experience:
  • Ability to make decisions or suggestions for improving machine run times, or better-quality part production, based on rules or procedures.
  • Experienced situations in which prior Job Knowledge with similar problems has shown which choice is most appropriate, selecting from known alternatives.
