Structure Fitter Welders | Tulsa and Port of Catoosa

Night Shift (2 position) 5pm – 3:30am

Pay: $22-$25

• Ability to weld together fabricated parts of structural metal products in shop, plan sequence of operation.
• Obtain specified electrode and inserts electrode into portable holder or threads consumable electrode wire through portable welding gun; connect cables from welding unit to obtain amperage, voltage, slope, and pulse, as specified by Welding Engineer or Welding Technician and be able to set welding machine wire feed.
• Ability to start power supply to produce electric current; strike (forms) arc which generates heat to melt and deposit metal from electrode to work piece and join edges of work piece.
• Manually guide electrode or gun along weld line, maintaining length of arc and speed of movement to form specified depth of fusion and bead, as judged from color of metal, sound of weld, and size of molten puddle.
• Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, vertical, or overhead positions. Examine weld for bead size, overall appearance, and other specifications.
• Ability to lift and position components, manually, using overhead or jib cranes.
• Ability to set up jigs and fixtures; position and clamp work pieces together or assemble them in jig or fixture.
• Ability to straighten warped or bent parts.
• Must be able to read blueprints.
• Ability to grind, chip weld splatter, high spot, burr, and rust from surfaces of structure components.
• Ability to position work pieces manually or by using overhead or jib cranes.

• Must pass American Welding Society 3g Test Mig/Flux test
• Two years of experience preferred.
