Title: Personal Banker

Department: Clarkston

Reports to: AVP, Branch Customer Service


Summary:

Private Banking/Personal Services, functions as a Customer Service/New Accounts Representative for retail clients, performing duties that include opening various deposit related accounts, answering customer inquiries and training clients with personal online banking and bill payment products.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Presents and explains Bank deposit services products to clients and assists in meeting their financial needs including: Opening, closing and maintaining various time and demand deposit accounts
  2. Open new accounts in accordance with Bank policy; This includes demand deposit, IRA/CD, Savings, Debit Cards
  3. Responsible for coordinating the implementation process for new clients and ensure transition to new bank is executed in a seamless manner
  4. Cross-Sell other Bank products through consultative needs gathering
  5. Responsible for establishing and maintaining excellent customer relationships with clients
  6. Assist Treasury Management personnel in projects that assist in account maintenance or sales efforts
  7. Promote excellent customer service and rapport with clients regarding daily inquiries and timely problem resolution
  8. Enthusiastically acknowledge and greet customers upon arrival at the Bank
  9. Assist clients on phone and in person with training of personal online banking and bill pay products
  10. Perform Customer Service Representative duties as needed
  11. Comply with all requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act
  12. Other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications:

  • High School diploma; Business degree preferred
  • Minimum of five (5) years banking experience preferred
  • Strong technical skills, including familiarity with online and mobile banking functions
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint & MS Outlook
  • A strong sales ability, strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks are required.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere and be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels
