Irrigation Worker

Under the general direction of the Storm Water Superintendent is responsible for ditch maintenance, ditch cleaning and operation of irrigation system in order to deliver irrigation water to customers.

Keeping ditches clean

Sprays ditches

Inspection of ditch structures and pipelines

Make minor repairs and assist in major repairs of structures and pipeline

Administer the release of water into and throughout the system and to ensure that the structures and pipelines are properly working

Ensure the system is functioning properly in order to avoid risk of property damage

To ensure that head gates are open to the different distribution ditches that coincide with the watering schedule

Ensures customers receive water according to schedule

Monitor flows in the ditch and inspect the system for potential maintenance problems

Watch for potential misuse of service by water users

Troubleshoot and correct or cause to be corrected, any complaints or problems with service to customers

To communicate and attempt to correct any problems of misuse of service.

Must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays

Drug screen and background checks performed
