Portal Enrollment Intern: Summer Opportunity

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Community Health is seeking to hire employees who are interested in working with patients during the summer through utilizing technology to support their care. This position will be responsible will be available to work with patients on a one-on-one basis to provide information regarding Community Health’s patient portal, an online resource for their medical care. The Portal Enrollment Intern will explain the options available to the patient, and directly assist with the application and enrollment process through the portal. Portal Enrollment Intern will work to ensure all individuals have access to our secure web-based healthcare application that enables patients to communicate with their healthcare providers and connects them directly to patient’s Electronic Medical Record.
Job Responsibilities:
- Help Community Health boost usage of health portal with patients.
- Responsible for patient enrollment / account activation.
- Support patient and family concerns regarding portal in conjunction with the support of the clinical support team and Front Office Manager.
- Uses resources to anticipate and address barriers regarding the portal to assist and guide patients through the portal system.
- Portal Enrollment Intern will meet with patients either in the check-in area, lobby or while they are checking out, in the patient exam room.
- Collect real time feedback from patients and/or their families.
- Communicate patient concerns to appropriate resources.
- Familiar with services Community Health offers to provide an overview if needed.
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Maintains confidentiality of Community Health and patient information at all times, as observed by management and peers.
- Be available to work as scheduled and report to work on time
- Presents neat and clean appearance in proper attire and identification as required by the position and Community Health policy.
- Interacts with all of the above in a considerate, helpful, respectful and courteous manner, as observed by manager and peers.
- Fosters mature professional relationships with fellow employees that are courteous, friendly as observed by management and peer input.
- Maintains professional composure and confidence during stressful situations.
- Maintains open communication using appropriate chain of command regarding issues.
- Be able to communicate clearly, think clearly, and concentrate on assigned tasks.
- Acts with integrity by adhering to policies and compliance requirements consistently and willing to openly report concerns to Leadership without fear of retaliation.
Job Requirements:
- 16 years of age or older, with parental permission (if needed).
- High School Diploma preferred but not required.
- Must complete necessary Community Health medication/immunization administration competencies and all necessary education.
- Outgoing, motivated, and empathetic.
- Strong understanding of technology (EX: online applications, tablets/phones…etc.)
- Passion or interest in the medical field.
- Passion for working with people and/or helping others.
