Terminal Manager

We are seeking a qualified individual with prior freight experience to fill a full-time management position. As a Terminal Manager, you will direct and coordinate activities of terminal employees to provide cost effective, timely, quality service to customers.

• Previous LTL operations experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of DOT, OSHA, and FMCSA rules and regulations
• 3+ years of management experience.
• Motivational and organizational skills
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, AS400, and Outlook) preferred
• High school diploma or GED required. Bachelor’s Degree in related field preferred.
• Composed and able to manage in stressful situations.
• Exceptional leadership and communication skills
• Experience with employee training, coaching and progressive discipline or counseling
• Strong ability to prioritize key tasks. Excellent planning and organizational skills in a changing environment.
• Customer service relations with a goal of 100% satisfaction
• Forklift certified is a plus
• Ability to be an organized record keeper.
• Ability to do physical labor
• Plan, direct and supervise day-to-day operations related to the transportation and movement of goods in order to generate revenue
• Examine all aspects of standard operating procedures in order to increase efficiencies on an on-going basis and to provide corrective action
• Effectively manage the assets of the operation – includes interaction with fleet operations
• Coordinate and manage relationship with vendors
• Oversee employees ensuring timely damage free loading/unloading of freight.
• Managing freight flow and productivity of inbound and outbound LTL freight.
• Motivate and supervise employees in job duties.
• Provide leadership and accountability to employees in a team environment.
• Ensure all work is performed according to company approved procedures, standards and specifications.
• Responsible for providing and enforcing a safe environment for all personnel and visitors.
• Keen understanding of the terminal’s key performance indicators and the ability to meet and/or exceed targeted goals.
