Responsibilities Include:
- Repair, PM, trouble-shoot, and be responsible for run time, mechanical, and electrical systems of natural gas engine operating customer location. Please note that your duties will require weekend work. The nature of the work can include call outs during weekday and weekend nights. You will be expected to be available for call outs, should a situation arise.
- Perform rotational call-out responsibilities and respond to emergency maintenance calls as needed
- Show dedication to customer service
- Perform preventive maintenance on Jenbacher gas engines including testing, oil and coolant changes, thermal inspections, visual inspections and data analysis
- Monitor, record and optimize plant performance
- Diagnose and repair problems on natural gas engine.
- Supervise technical subcontractors in the performance of work
- Perform preventive and corrective work to maintain balance of plant to include cooling towers, blowers, pumps, heat exchangers, control wiring systems, piping, sensors and HVAC
- Must understand co-generation plant operations
- Maintain professional working relationships with customers and co-workers.
- Understands safety protocols on plant operations
- Assist with filling spare parts inventory including sourcing, installation, and replenishment of supplies
- Stay reasonably informed of industry-wide safety practices, mechanic’s education, and develop or maintain any skill needed to properly perform the services
- Perform preventive maintenance including mechanical work, controls systems, and non-electrical and basic electrical systems
- Identify, coordinate, and observe work of contractors performing troubleshooting and repairs for plant equipment.
- Document time, material, expenses, and maintenance records in computer-based maintenance system.
- Prepare reports and document results of maintenance activities.
- Perform other duties assigned including procedure development and revision.
- Must have a valid driver's license with clean driving record.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical and gas generators and their components.
- Experience installing comms wiring and troubleshooting comms set-up
- Proficient with the use of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience reading and interpreting electrical, and mechanical drawings and technical manuals.
- Experience with metering and test equipment.
- OSHA 10 and CPR qualification, OSHA 30 HR Training, and NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in workplace
- North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) certification preferred
- Maintenance Planner experience
- Knowledge of computer network communications protocols and troubleshooting strongly preferred.
- Basic understanding of how to interface with and understand various communication devices that operate under the TCP and Modbus protocols.
- Be able to inspect and work maintenance activities in outdoor construction type areas.
- Regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and reach with hands to dexterously maneuver small parts in confined spaces, such as wires, screws, and various components within electrical equipment.
- Regularly required to kneel, crawl, climb ladders and stairs, use scissor lifts and cherry picker.
- Must be able to lift, push or pull 50 lbs overhead repeatedly.
- Ability to wear full complement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Must have the ability to travel, work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends.
- Full Time; 8 hour shifts
- Occasional night shift, on-call and weekend availability
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
- Generator repair: 1 year (Preferred)
- Clean motor vehicle report required (clean driving record)
- Clean criminal record required
- OSHA 10 Certification. (Willingness to obtain)
