O'Fallon, United States Christian School District Full time
Job DescriptionJob DescriptionSalary: Stipend

We are Veritas Christian Academy — a community of students, parents, teachers, and administrators with a shared vision of creating a biblically-grounded foundation for students to stand on throughout their lives impacting the world for the glory of God.

VCA educates students in a Christ—centered atmosphere by discipling students toward academic, artistic, and athletic excellence. We partner with mission-minded families to integrate Christian faith and academic learning for their children from preschool through 12th grade.

Head Football Coaching Requirements

  • The head coach must be a born-again believer in Jesus Christ and exhibit a lifestyle of obedience that reflects a total commitment to Him. The candidate will be asked in the interview process to share a testimony of how Jesus Christ called him/her to this saving faith.

  • The head coach will model his/her life after the earthly example of Jesus Christ and through the absolute truth of the Bible. He/She will teach Biblical principles to his/her team, as well as pray for and with the players.

  • The head coach must have high school or college experience as an offensive and/or defensive coordinator. This coordinator experience includes, but is not limited to, breaking down film of opponents, creating a game plan, planning/scripting all practices, preparing a game call sheet, and evaluating player performance (film).

  • The head coach must have and be able to articulate a twelve-month plan covering every facet of the football program. This includes, but is not limited to, player leadership training, strength and agility training, recruiting of players for college football, offensive/defensive/special teams systems, in-season and off-season planning/activities, professional development for assistant coaches, parental involvement/communication plan, and media/public relations plan.

Head Football Coaching Expectations

  • The head coach will prioritize the building of character, citizenship, and academics over simply winning games.

  • The head coach will be knowledgeable of and follow all Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) guidelines, as well as the policies of the Christian School District.

  • The head coach will properly supervise all program-related activities, with particular emphasis on safety. He/She will report all injuries to the athletic trainer, and all serious injuries to the athletic director and school nurse. He/She will complete an Incident/Accident/Injury Report for all injuries.

  • The head coach will organize athletic awards/banquet that recognize team/player accomplishments at the conclusion of the season.

  • The head coach will report scores and summaries of contests to media outlets and MSHSAA.

  • The head coach will create and use a systematic method of communication for players, parents, and administration.
