Job DescriptionJob Description

River Dog Daycare in Melrose, MA (formerly known as Dogwood Cottage) is looking for one dog daycare handler to join our team. We are located on 171 Tremont Street.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring a safe and low stress environment for the dogs in our off-leash playgroups
  • Keep playrooms sanitary by cleaning up pee/poop throughout the shift
  • Collaborate with staff, management, and dog owners to give the best possible care to each dog

Qualifications

  • Must be able to stand/walk for hours at a time with minimal rest
  • Must be able to bend and lift up to 50lbs
  • Priority given to applications with experience caring for multiple dogs at once (dog daycares, group walks, etc)
  • Priority also given to applicants with knowledge of dog training principles (classical and operant conditioning, stress thresholds, LIMA, etc)

Available shifts and compensation: Available shifts all days except Sundays and Saturdays. Compensation is $15.00 - $20.00/hour.
