Construction Foreman

CFE, Inc. is a national leader in the commercial roofing and wall panel industry. We are looking for a Construction Foreman that will assist team members in the safe and successful completion of each assigned project. Key performance measures are safety, workmanship, team productivity and customer satisfaction. 

The role of this position is to lead team in the installatation and repair wall panels in compliance with the manufacturer and customer requirements as well as all safety policies as directed by the Project Manager. Our shop is located in Elmira, NY, with job sites throughout Upstate NY.

Position Requirements :

• Lead, coordinate, and plan work in an efficient manner
• Sheet metal/Wall Panel or Carpentry experience
• Ability to read and understand blueprints
• Must be willing to travel to job sites within 6 hours of Elmira, NY
• Must have own hand tools
• Must have own transportation
• Minimum 2 years Construction Supervisor experience

Responsibilities Include:

• Participate in development of project plan based on pre-job meeting and on-site meeting with Field Superintendent.
• Responsible for training and compliance of Company and Customer safety requirements.
• Encourage and direct team members on a daily basis. Monitor performance in several areas – safety, application techniques, production rates, use and care of tools and equipment, housekeeping and customer satisfaction.
• Keep owner’s representative informed on an ongoing basis. Handle customer complaints in a timely and cooperative way.
• When required, direct sub contractors and coordinate with other trades.
• Understand and comply with all Operations Manual, Safety Manual, and Associate Policy Handbook requirements. Examples: Daily reports, weekly toolbox talks, red tag procedure, time cards, accident reporting.
• Stay current on manufacturer’s specifications including any special requirements on a particular project.
• With the support of Superintendents, Construction Managers and Project Managers, conduct on-site training to continuously upgrade the skills of all team members. A skilled team reflects well on you as foreman.
• Be creative in developing a high degree of motivation, morale, teamwork and productivity among team members.
• Evaluate the performance of team members.
• Encourage team members to support our goals of safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
