Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable Material Handler to join our dynamic team. As a Material Handler, you will play a crucial role in the production process by efficiently managing the flow of materials, ensuring timely delivery to workstations, and maintaining a well-organized stone yard. This position requires physical strength, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety.

Responsibilities:

1. Material Movement:

  • Safely and efficiently transport raw materials, finished products, and supplies within the facility using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment.
  • Load and unload materials from trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
  • Coordinate with production teams to prioritize material delivery based on production schedules.

2. Inventory Management:

  • Maintain proper categorization and placement of items.
  • Update inventory records using computerized systems.
  • Monitor and report any discrepancies or shortages to the supervisor.

3. Organization and Maintenance:

  • Organize materials to maximize space utilization and facilitate easy retrieval.
  • Keep the warehouse clean and well-maintained, adhering to safety standards.
  • Assist in the labeling and identification of materials.

4. Quality Control:

  • Inspect materials for damage or defects, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Follow quality control procedures to ensure only approved materials are used in production.

5. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with production and shipping teams to meet project deadlines.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth material flow.

6. Safety Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling of equipment and materials.
  • Participate in safety meetings and report any safety concerns promptly.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Material Handler, preferably in a stone fabrication or similar industry.
  • Forklift certification and experience operating material handling equipment.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy materials regularly.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Basic computer skills for inventory tracking.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
