What's your day like?

As the Part Time School Age Child Care Center Director/Lead Teacher at YMCA of Greater Toledo, you'll be at the heart of the action, driving the day-to-day operations with enthusiasm and passion. From managing enrollment and marketing to ensuring compliance with ODJFS licensing requirements, you'll have a hand in all aspects of running the center smoothly. Your role will involve overseeing classroom teacher aides, handling billing, coordinating snack and meal services, and fostering effective communication with children, parents, YMCA staff, and center guests. Collaborating with other center directors and branch personnel, you'll contribute to a positive and supportive working environment where every child's needs are met with care and dedication.

What you need to be successful

To excel in the role of Part Time School Age Child Care Center Director/Lead Teacher at YMCA of Greater Toledo, candidates should possess a B.S. or Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. While not mandatory, having at least two years of experience as a child care director or lead teacher is highly desirable. Additionally, a CDA credential at CPL Level 3 would be advantageous, especially when accompanied by several years of practical experience in the field. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and a passion for creating safe and engaging environments for children to learn and thrive.

The ability to collaborate with a diverse team of educators and stakeholders while upholding the values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility will be key to succeeding in this dynamic role.
