Calling all dog-lovers New Horizon Kennel in Port Byron, IL is seeking a full-time Dog Trainer to join our team. We're an animal care facility that is open 365 days a year from 7 am to 9 pm. You can plan on working within those hours.

THE TYPE OF CANDIDATE WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience using computers
  • A positive attitude, attention to detail, and reliability
  • Excellent listening, time management, and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds and be physically active during your shift

PREFERRED:

  • Animal science degree
  • Animal behavior schooling
  • Dog handling experience via training classes, confirmation show experience, or other competitive canine activity
  • Experience with off-leash canine play groups

Your duties as a dog trainer include providing top-notch animal care, leading engaging training sessions for our furry friends, and actively participating in enrichment activities to keep tails wagging. It warms your heart to see our four-legged friends learn new skills
