Cedarcrest is a dedicated healthcare organization committed to providing comprehensive care for children and young adults with complex medical needs. We are currently seeking a Feeding Technician to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring that our residents receive the nutrition they require through G-tube feedings.

As a Feeding Technician at Cedarcrest, you will be responsible for preparing and administering enteral feedings via G-tube to pediatric residents under the guidance of the nursing team. You will work closely with our nursing staff and medical professionals to ensure that the residents receive the prescribed nutrition accurately and safely.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare enteral formulas according to the specific nutritional requirements prescribed by attending pediatricians.
  • Administer G-tube feedings to pediatric residents, ensuring proper hygiene and safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate records of feedings, formula measurements, and any observations related to the patient's condition
  • Work closely with the nursing staff to follow individualized feeding plan
  • Ensure the comfort and well-being of residents during the feeding process, addressing any concerns or issues promptly
  • Adhere to strict hygiene and safety guidelines to prevent infection or complications. Clean work area in the nutrition room, stock and organize nutrition supplies

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework in a related field is a plus)
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology a plus
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Demonstrated empathy and patience when working with pediatric and young adult residents
