Position: Operations Assistant

Classification: Non-Exempt, Hourly Position

Location: Medford, OR

Job Summary: The Operations Assistant at Mercy Flights is responsible for daily ambulance stocking, cleaning duties, and ensuring that ambulances and backup vehicles are ready for service. This role also involves organizing the stock room, setting up supplies, and maintaining inventory. This is a dynamic position that requires attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure ambulances are stocked and cleaned daily, ready for service.
  • Maintain stock room organization and inventory.
  • Complete required paperwork accurately, including Vehicle Check Sheets and Inventory Forms.
  • Assist with receiving, shipping, stocking, and inventory of supplies.
  • Operate vehicles safely and maintain a tidy workspace.

Qualifications:

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience: Prior experience in a stock room or inventory control preferred.

Certifications/Licenses: Valid Oregon Driver’s License. Must be at least 18 years old and meet company driving record requirements.

Competencies:

  • Knowledge of emergency medical equipment and terminology.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Good judgment and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Basic maintenance skills.
  • Ability to perform essential physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • This role involves shift work, with shifts typically between 4:00 am and 12:30 am, Sunday through Saturday.
  • Work is primarily local; out-of-area and overnight travel is not expected.
  • The position operates in a professional office environment and involves regular use of standard office equipment.
  • Exposure to various environmental factors such as heat, cold, noise, dust, and chemical solutions.
