About Us:  Cardiology Associates is a leading medical practice dedicated to providing exceptional patient care and innovative treatments for heart-related conditions.  Our team of 30 cardiologists and 22 APPs (Advanced Practice Practitioners) represent all the subspecialties within cardiology including clinical, invasive, electrophysiology, peripheral vascular,  heart failure, and structural heart.  The practice works collaboratively to ensure the best outcomes for our patients.

 

Position Overview:   We are seeking a highly motivated certified coder to join our team.  The ideal candidate will have experience in ICD-10 diagnosis coding,  CPT E&M and procedure coding, as well as a knowledge of medical billing.  The ability to communicate clearly with providers and staff is also a necessary skill.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes for cardiology services
  • Work with others in the organization to ensure accurate and timely submission of claims for reimbursement
  • Collaborate with providers to ensure their documentation supports coding and billing accuracy
  • Conduct regular audits to monitor coding accuracy and opportunity for improvement
  • Educate providers and staff on coding guidelines and documentation requirements through prepared presentations to groups and one-on-one sessions with individuals
  • Stay current with industry changes and updates to coding, billing, and compliance

 

Qualifications:

  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification
  • Experience in medical coding, preferably in a hospital or medical group setting
  • Proficiency in ICD-10  diagnosis coding and CPT E&M and procedure coding
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of cardiology terminology and procedures is preferred
  • Familiarity with use of electronic health record (EHR) system(s)
  • Clinical background / knowledge a plus
