If so, we want you to be a part of our dynamic team as a Recreation Leader under the guidance of our dedicated Recreation Manager. As a Part-Time Recreation Leader, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of our community members. You'll be responsible for providing leadership and functional supervision for various recreation programs, activities, and park facilities. This is an opportunity to shape positive experiences, build lasting memories, and contribute to the well-being of our community.

YOUR NEW ROLE

  • Oversee Daily Operations: Manage the day-to-day operations of athletic fields and park facilities, including supervising participants, coordinating programs, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
  • Community Engagement: Interact with special interest groups, assist the public, and monitor activities across various areas, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity.
  • Flexibility: Be ready to travel to offsite events, ensuring our reach extends beyond our parks and into the wider community.
  • Team Player: Collaborate with your colleagues and perform general sports field preparation, special event setup/breakdown, and janitorial tasks both inside and outside facilities.
  • Adaptability: Be prepared to take on whatever is needed day to day, contributing to the overall success of our recreational programs.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 16 years of age or older (17 years of age or older preferred).
  • High school education or GED equivalent.
  • Previous work experience in recreation programming, supervision, customer service, or special events preferred.
  • Possess a valid Georgia driver's license with a good driving history.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • CPR/First Aid certification preferred but not required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This role is active and requires physical activity, including standing, walking, and lifting objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities are needed, such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Appropriate attire in compliance with the City dress code and weather conditions is required.

Work Environment:

  • You'll be working in various weather conditions, so be prepared to enjoy the great outdoors which includes wet, hot, and/or humid conditions.
  • Enjoy the scenic beauty of our public parks while traversing the landscape.

COMPETITIVE PAY

  • Starting salary: $22.27/hour.
  • Please note that this part-time position does not include the City of Johns Creek's benefits package.
