Security Operations Center-X is hiring a full time Assistant Director. SOC-X is a new security technology company located in Troy, MI.

Job Purpose

The Assistant Director of the Security Operations Center at SOCX plays a critical leadership role in the management and oversight of video and alarm monitoring, intelligence analysis, and overall operations. This position demands an experienced professional with a comprehensive understanding of security operations, advanced technological solutions, and the ability to lead a diverse team to ensure the safety and security of SOCX clients, business partners and assets.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee the integration and functionality of the Security Operations Center, focusing on video surveillance, alarm monitoring, and strategic incident responses.
  • Guarantee continual operational preparedness for swift and effective responses to security alerts and situations.
  • Develop, innovate, and refine operational strategies and protocols to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

2. Team Leadership:

  • Direct and develop a professional team of security operators and intelligence experts.
  • Cultivate an environment of perpetual growth, collaboration and high professional standards.
  • Evaluate team performance systematically, offering constructive feedback and fostering career development.

3. Security Monitoring:

  • Manage extensive security frameworks, including CCTV, alarm systems, access controls and advanced threat detection technologies.
  • Coordinate effectively to manage and mitigate incidents promptly.
  • Oversee ongoing threat evaluations and ensure necessary escalation procedures are in place.

4. Intelligence Analysis:

  • Supervise the gathering and analysis of intelligence from multiple sources to pinpoint and assess potential threats.
  • Supervise the preparation and dissemination of detailed intelligence briefings and reports to aid with strategic decision-making.
  • Collaborate and engage with external intelligence entities as required to enhance security insights and responses.

5. Technology Management:

  • Administer cutting-edge technological solutions for surveillance and analytical operations.
  • Keep abreast of emerging technologies in the security and intelligence fields to boost operational capabilities.
  • Oversee the maintenance and optimal performance of all technological equipment and software.

6. Emergency Response and Crisis Management:

  • Develop, implement and execute internal emergency response plans, procedures and contingencies.
  • Execute decisive actions under pressure to safeguard people and property.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience with a strong background in video and alarm monitoring and intelligence analysis.
  • Previous leadership experience in security operations or an intelligence organization is advantageous.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Deep understanding of security operation frameworks, including surveillance and alarm systems.
  • Exceptional analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Strong leadership qualities and communication proficiency.
  • Expertise in current security technologies and software.
  • Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.

Working Conditions

Primarily stationed at the SOCX operations center, this full-time role demands a flexible schedule to accommodate varying operational needs and emergency situations.

Physical Requirements

The physical requirements for this position include the ability to work in a monitoring center environment, which may involve sitting for extended periods, using computer equipment, and responding quickly to emergency situations. There are no specific physical demands beyond those associated with standard office work.
