About the Role:
As the Director of Technology & Innovation, you will spearhead the development and management of technology systems and infrastructure at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport. Your role will encompass overseeing everything from cybersecurity and telecommunications to cutting-edge airport technologies. You'll work closely with the Executive Director and other departmental leaders to ensure that our technological advancements align with our strategic objectives and enhance operational efficiency
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Management: Lead and mentor a team of IT professionals, oversee performance, and make critical hiring and staffing decisions.
Strategic Planning: Develop and execute an IT Master Plan that aligns with our strategic goals, and manage a comprehensive portfolio of technology services.
Technology Oversight: Direct and manage all aspects of our technology infrastructure, including network systems, security, and telecommunications.
Innovation & Improvement: Identify and implement technology solutions to improve airport operations and passenger experience.
Vendor & Project Management: Oversee external consultants and vendors, manage project timelines, and ensure the successful deployment of new technologies.
Cybersecurity: Collaborate with General Counsel on cybersecurity matters and maintain robust security measures to protect our systems and data.
Who You Are:
Experienced Leader: With at least 7 years of IT management experience, ideally in a 24/7 environment, you're adept at guiding teams and driving technological advancements.
Strategic Thinker: You possess strong strategic planning skills and have a track record of managing large-scale IT projects.
Technical Expert: Proficient in ERP, CRM, cloud services, and network infrastructure, with experience in airport-specific technologies being a plus.
Certified Professional: While certifications like Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, CCNA, PMP, CISSP, or ITIL are preferred, your expertise and practical knowledge are what truly matter.
Innovative Problem Solver: Your ability to anticipate technology trends and apply solutions in a dynamic environment will set you apart.
