Early Recovery Specialist

As an Early Recovery Specialist, you will provide clients with a sense of entitlement to their own recovery by involving them in their own assessment, evaluation, treatment planning. You will also conduct daily follow-ups with newly admitted clients via face-to-face or telephonic interactions as clinically appropriate. You will monitor and document any client circumstance that may affect her or his recovery, to identify and address potential relapse as soon as possible.

Pay Range:

  • $22 to $25 per hour

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree, license, or certification necessary to provide counseling services to our clients.
  • Possess counselor certification by a “Certifying Organization” recognized by the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs

Responsibilities:

  • Manage caseload of all new admitted patients and provide individual counseling services, and
    group counseling services when appropriate.
  • Maintain appropriate professional, therapeutic, and ethical boundaries with patients
  • Conduct intakes, including discharge plans, Initial Needs Assessments, and Initial Treatment
    Plans within the timelines as required by applicable federal and state regulation, CARF guidelines and Aegis/PTC Policies.
  • Provide patients with a sense of entitlement to their own recovery by involving them in their own assessment, evaluation, treatment planning.
  • Conduct daily follow-ups with newly admitted patients via face-to-face or telephonic interactions as clinically appropriate.
  • Monitor and document any patient circumstance that may affect her or his recovery, to
    identify and address potential relapse as soon as possible.
  • Provide case management to coordinate care with external providers.
  • In addition to attending weekly case conferences, participate in weekly meetings with clinic
    management to discuss patient progress.
  • Comply with, and implement, the Clinical Risk Management policies, which includes evaluating
    patients for any high-risk conditions.
  • Provide evaluation of patient progress in early recovery and recommend to management staff
    and program physician advancement to maintenance counseling when appropriate.
  • Provide patients with evidenced-based and best practice interventions that will help ensure their program compliance (e.g., check-ins, behavior agreements, texting service, take-home
    agreements, contingency management, etc.).
  • Promote a positive team approach for problem solving and evaluating challenging clinical
  • Development of recovery support materials (e.g., transition cards, motivational cards, ERS
    graduation gift, etc.)
  • Review patient’s records and other documentation for accuracy, completion, and compliance with regulations and internal Policies, Protocols, and Procedures using the recommended compliance, evaluation tools.
  • Provide individual counseling for patients who have missed regularly scheduled counseling
    appointments as needed and appropriate.
  • Maintain competence by attending necessary trainings and receiving feedback pertinent to the
    Early Recovery Specialist position.
