PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE:

The Loan Technician is responsible for preparing and processing loan files. This will involve obtaining all necessary documentation as well as ensuring compliance with bank, regulatory, and investor guidelines. The satisfactory performance of these duties will provide a high level of exceptional personal service to our customers while reducing credit risk to the Bank. This is an in-office position.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

· Assist lenders with paperwork, documentation and filing.

· Order services from outside sources such as title insurance, appraisals, lien searches, environmental, flood certification, certificate of good standing and outside counsel.

· Organize loan files according to policy for each loan type.

· Review loan file and request deficient documents for loans that are expected to renew.

· Request and filed needed paperwork for loan, including insurance, flood certification, UCCs, tax information, title information and customer financials.

· Maintain loan accounts on software.

· Provide payoff information to customers or other organizations.

· Approve any non-regular loan payments and ensure codes are correct.

· Specify loans that need additional attention by the loan officer.

· Monitor the progress of loan exceptions.

· Review maturing loan reports and work with lender to determine payoff/renewal status.

· Prepares loan document worksheet/checklist on approved loans for closing document preparation.

· Assist bank examiners, credit department, and other sources as needed regarding file information and/or loan account information.

· Review prepared documents prior to closing for accuracy.

· AccuSystems Scanning.

· Provide administrative support.

· Regular and reliable attendance.

· Physical presence at the bank.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Skills and Attributes:

· Strong and effective written and verbal communication.

· Ability to present, sell and service bank products.

· Ability to multi-task, organize projects and prioritize.

· Proven ability for problem solving.

· Proficiency with Microsoft office software and pertinent software for the department.

· Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.

· Strong analytical abilities.

· Ability to read, analyze, and interpret policies, contracts, credit and financial reports and legal documents.

· Strong mathematical aptitude.

· Ability to interpret regulations and reports.

· Ability to exercise good judgment in establishing and maintaining working relationships.

· Ability to deliver a high level of responsiveness to internal and external customers.

· High level of accuracy, focus and timeliness

Education:

· High School Diploma or GED

· Some post-secondary education preferred.

Experience:

· Minimum of one year experience in banking preferred.
