Job DescriptionJob Description

PURPOSE

Mentor and train new employees in making a smooth transition into a new role by using the expertise of Mentor/Floater skills. As needed, float to various machines to cover vacations and absences.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Must be able to perform and train others in performing all jobs, including operating Belt Press, Pan Press, Rotocures, Inline, and Specialty Press (formerly Repair Press).
  2. Must be able to set up all machines. Must assist with set ups when necessary.
  3. Must fill in for vacations and other absences.
  4. Must have the ability to solve technical issues.
  5. Must assist in closing Near Misses.

  • Must be dependable, flexible, and demonstrate the ability to follow directions
  • Must be a team player
  • Must be able to train and communicate effectively with others
  • Ability to operate production equipment
  • Forklift certified
  • Good knowledge of all safety procedures while operating machinery



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience: Must have 1-year of qualified experience on the job to mentor.
  • Attendance: Must not have received habitual disciplinary actions on record year to date.
  • Disciplinary: The areas of Safety, Quality & Productivity and Attitude must have exemplary conduct and must not have received habitual disciplinary actions on record year to date.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • One year or more factory experience or equivalent desired.

LANGUAGE ABILITY

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and work instructions.


MATH ABILITY

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers.



COMPUTER SKILLS

Incumbent needs a basic understanding of computers and printers


CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES

Forklift certification required
