Job Summary:

The Sr. Data Business Analyst ensures accurate and timely execution of our financial reporting to both internal and external stakeholders. Works under limited supervision, prioritizing assignments and workloads to meet production and project deliverables. Through Data and Production Analytics, the business analysis team strives to identify trends to create transparency related to performance. Knowledge of our end to end product, process and data flows enables the Analyst to offer creative design solutions to assist management with clear and robust reporting.

Works with departments to outline the specific needs for each business unit. Assists with projects and special initiatives of both a financial and operations nature. Understands the business unit's processes and implications on other groups within the operations function and other divisions within the company. Knowledge acquired through increasingly responsible work. The Analyst provides ongoing technical support for the architecture and enhancement of RCL’s workflow. The Analyst actively interfaces with RCL management and business users to assess opportunities, gather requirements, design solutions, develop reports and implement process and improvements.

Summary of Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the day to day operational outcomes for an assigned area; anticipates and recommends solutions for current and future opportunities
  • Work across business units to improve monitoring, discover issues, mitigate risk and deliver better value to the customer
  • Capture requirements across systems and business unit(s) that may continually shift throughout the lifecycle of the assigned work, requiring business assessment impact
  • Determine the feasibility of requests, ensures user requirements are thoroughly and accurately documented
  • May manage scope and change control of assigned work in coordination with Management
  • Understand the integration of processes across business units
  • May facilitate and perform necessary follow up with partners to ensure new or modified system functionality is documented accurately, requirements have been met and are aligned with project outcomes
  • Provide analytical support, leveraging third party external partners and internal partners to assist in business decisions
  • Develop and modify reports for both need and efficiency
  • Provide technical consultation on data requirements for all new business initiatives and/or changes to the business
  • Own and develop relationship with internal partners and external customers and vendors, working with them to optimize and enhance our integration and business results
  • Report on common sources of technical issues or questions and make recommendations for fixes and enhancements
  • Provide subject matter expertise on projects and key strategic initiatives

Primary Success Measurements:

  • Clear, effective communication with all levels of employment as indicated by feedback from RCL management
  • Support of all operational and business intelligence processes as indicated by feedback from internal/external data clients
  • Efficiency and timeliness in execution of solutions as measured by comparison of performance against project goals

Education and/or Experience:

  • The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree, preferably in CIS, Finance or Accounting.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within a financial institution with hands-on experience in Data Analysis
  • Experience working on teams to deliver full-cycle implementation projects
  • Strong problem-solving skills, troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Ability to use SQL to create complex data extractions spanning multiple source systems.
  • Ability to use SQL to create complex data profiling activities and analysis of large amounts of loan related data for logical understanding, financial planning and data confirms for audits.
  • Ability to document procedures for SQL code, Excel model function and business requirements.
  • Strong ability to think logically and critically to develop actionable solutions that help resolve complex data issues.
  • Must be able to build and maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with co-workers as well as end users and business partners both in person and in a remote work environment.
  • Ability to thrive and be energized in a challenging and dynamic environment where priorities and challenges are changing.
  • Ability to provide clear oral and written communication to a variety of business and technical audiences.
  • Ability to gather requirements, develop project plans, monitor progress, and connect with stakeholders throughout the development life cycle
  • Ability to train/cross-train others.
  • Previous experience with cloud databases Snowflake, MS Suite of Products, Business Intelligence software (Qlik Sense, Tableau, Business Objects)
  • Previous experience with data mapping and relational database modeling.
  • Ability to learn RCL and RCC business and product offerings.
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines.
