STOCKROOM CLERK

Stabilus is a global leader in the production of gas springs and dampers on five continents. This position will be located at Ace Controls, a Stabilus company, a leader in the field of industrial damping technology. The company’s portfolio includes automation, control, motion control, vibration control and safety products We are seeking a Stockroom Clerk to join our Team. This role has the responsibility and authority for picking and distributing materials and supplies, maintaining accurate inventory records, and examining stock for potential deterioration and damage by performing the following duties.

Ace Controls is a great place to work We are conveniently located in Farmington Hills close to several major expressways. Our facility is climate controlled and safety is a top priority. We are looking for long-term employees and offer hands-on training. We have open positions on our 1st shift which runs from 7:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. There may be opportunities for overtime based on company needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Counts, sorts, or weighs articles to verify inventory status or to assure accuracy while picking orders.
  • Examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Stores articles in bins, on floor, on shelves, or on racks according to identifying information such as style, size, or type of material.
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock.
  • Performs periodic inventory of stock.
  • Marks identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles.
  • Distributes stock among production workers and keeps records of materials used.
  • Moves or transports material or supplies to other departments typically using a wheeled cart.
  • Maintains inventory and other stock records.
  • Handles all parts or material carefully to avoid damage or personal injury.
  • Uses computer and/or RF scanner to access information concerning location, lot number, part count status, or the due dates of orders.
  • Assemble customer orders from stock.
  • Participates and contributes ideas and information to Quality activities.
  • Follows all procedures and work instructions.
  • Keeps all work areas clean and free of obstructions.
  • Performs all tasks with the highest regard for inventory accuracy.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to speak English to effectively present information before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Hi-lo license a plus, but is not required. ACE Controls will train if needed.
