Job Description: As a Water Safety Instructor at Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, you will have the rewarding opportunity to teach children essential water safety skills and swimming techniques. You will play a vital role in helping students develop confidence in the water and ensure a safe and enjoyable learning experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Swim Instruction:

    • Teach swim lessons to children of varying ages and skill levels, following the Aqua-Tots curriculum and lesson plans.
    • Provide individualized instruction and support to help students develop proper swimming techniques and water safety skills.
    • Create a positive and encouraging learning environment that fosters confidence and enthusiasm among students.
  2. Safety Monitoring:

    • Maintain constant supervision of students during swim lessons to ensure their safety and well-being in the water.
    • Enforce all safety rules and regulations established by Aqua-Tots Swim Schools, including proper use of equipment and adherence to pool guidelines.
    • Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may arise during swim lessons, following established procedures for emergency protocols.
  3. Parent Communication:

    • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress, achievements, and areas for improvement in swim lessons.
    • Provide feedback and recommendations to parents on ways to support their child's continued growth and development in the water.
    • Address any concerns or questions from parents in a professional and empathetic manner.
  4. Professional Development:

    • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities provided by Aqua-Tots Swim Schools to enhance teaching skills and knowledge of water safety practices.
    • Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and advancements in swim instruction and water safety education.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with children in a swim instruction or aquatics setting is preferred.
  • Strong swimming skills and knowledge of various swim strokes and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with children and parents.
  • Passion for water safety and a commitment to promoting drowning prevention.
  • Current certifications in CPR and first aid (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Completion of Aqua-Tots Swim Schools' Water Safety Instructor training program (provided upon hire).
