Job DescriptionJob Description

Candidates must possess 5 – 10 years of experience in the planning and design of new or the rehabilitation of water, wastewater, and storm water pipelines. The candidate will join our Boston, MA, Manchester, NH or Wethersfield, CT office.

Required Experience:
The desired candidate will have experience in:

• Design of new pipelines and pipeline rehabilitation including: Preparation of pipe sizing calculations for conveyance systems; interpretation/use of hydraulic modeling output to inform design of new or rehabilitated pipelines
• Pipeline condition assessment and prioritization
• Sewer system evaluation surveys; inflow/infiltration studies
• Utility coordination – determination and resolution of vertical and horizontal utility conflicts
• Technical expertise in the layout and profiles of pipeline design in AutoCAD Civil 3D 2015
• Site survey requirements
• Knowledge of subsurface and geotechnical engineering requirements
• Development and review of technical reports, proposals, contract documents, resources studies, and data analysis
• Preparation of contract specifications and drawings
• Office and field engineering support during construction

Desired Experience:
• Experience in planning, design and construction for a range of pipeline diameters and types
• NASSCO certification
Site/civil design for conveyance systems
• Exposure to field investigations, pipeline construction and associated street reconstruction
• Preliminary site planning
• Proficiency in the use of Revit/BIM, hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software such as InfoWorks and SWMM-based software
• Soil erosion and sediment control design including stability calculations, Best Management Practices, swale design, spillway design, and determination of construction sequence.
• Permitting of soil and erosion control, storm water, site plans, and drainage studies
• Trenchless technologies

Position Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• 5 – 10 years of experience
• PE required with ability to obtain registration in other States
• Possess strong verbal communication and technical writing skills
• Effectively and proactively coordinate with various disciplines (Stormwater, Civil, etc.)
