Distribution Line Staker/Technician

Our client is in search of an experienced Electrical Distribution Line Design Staker or Technician to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Distribution Manager, you will play a pivotal role in power line design and analysis for both overhead and underground distribution systems. The ideal candidate should possess familiarity with RUS units, structural analysis basics, and relevant staking software packages.

Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze overhead distribution lines, ensuring appropriate clearances and collaborating with engineers, technicians, and clients.
• Create make-ready documentation for fiber and communication attachments.
• Design and analyze underground distribution systems.
• Develop material breakdown sheets and assist in estimating job costs.
• Travel to project sites for information gathering, assessments, and technical advice.
• Maintain current knowledge of applicable codes and standards (RUS, NESC, ASCE).
• Prepare and review documents and drawings (specifications, design criteria, construction documents, as-builts).

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical school or college education (required).
• 1+ years of experience in electric utility distribution line design.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel approximately 75% annually and work extended hours to meet project deadlines.
• Experience with AutoCAD (a plus).
• Familiarity with analysis tools like Poleforeman, SPIDAcalc (a plus).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (required), Office 365, and SharePoint (preferred).
