Production Planner

We are looking for a qualified Production Planner to organize our manufacturing operation in Apex, NC according to demand and quality standards. You will be the one to ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner.

An excellent production planner is well-versed in production procedures and ways to optimize them. They are organized and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Good communication with peers and off-site stakeholders will be important, and you’ll be expected to review, correct, and analyze production cost-related data.

Your goal is to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations.

Responsibilities of the Production Planner include:

• Coordinate production workflow for multiple products
• Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
• Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand
• Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
• Address operational issues proactively, coordinating and supporting resolution and improvement initiatives.
• Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
• Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff
• Periodically review and financially close production work orders to ensure actual costs aligned with budgets and planned costs. Review variances and observations with production management.
• Prepare analysis of production-related statistics for reporting to management, as requested.
• Develop plans to efficiently use Production staff and equipment to produce the maximum revenue. Support staffing requirements analysis based on planned work and historical data. Monitor transactions of inventory and recommend safety stocks, order points and similar tools to ensure that the material is in house to support operational performance goals.
• Support and/or lead product certification activities including annual and periodic USMCA certification requests.
• Conduct market research to support future business planning to forecast and analyze costs of processes, labor, and inventory. Evaluate current operational strategies and recommend improvements

Qualifications of the Production Planner include:

• Planning-related experience in an electronic box-build type manufacturing operation using enterprise ERP systems such as Microsoft D365.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and attention to detail
• Ability to differentiate between similar number and letter combinations, and accurately enter and update data in enterprise computer systems.
• Experience creating and manipulating spreadsheets to summarize and analyze production data.
• Model effective communication, leadership and partnership with the production team
• High school diploma; Further education or certification is preferred
