POSITION SUMMARY

Everence is seeking a highly capable, detail-oriented, individual to lead the Internal Audit function for Everence. This individual will be responsible for performing or coordinating all internal audits in the Everence enterprise.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  1. Perform and coordinate the work of outside auditors performing internal audits for Everence entities as directed by the Risk Management Committee, including, but not limited to, compliance audits for Everence Capital Management, Everence Trust Company operations and compliance audits, and Everence Federal Credit Union (EFCU) branch audits.
  2. Coordinate the work of the EFCU Supervisory Committee and assist in the preparation of the agenda for the Corporate and Trust audit committees.
  3. Coordinate other internal, compliance, or security audits performed by outside auditors or by another third party.
  4. Update and maintain exam tracking and exception reporting processes.
  5. Perform management and regulatory required testing, as appropriate.
  6. Participate in the annual financial statement audits, including coordinating responses and questionnaires.
  7. Participate in the responses to all regulatory audits.
  8. Facilitate the work of the Risk Management Committee and its subcommittees.
  9. Prepare and present required regulatory and audit committee reporting.
  10. Lead the enterprise risk assessment process.
  11. Participate in the vendor management process, including coordinating annual reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Business, or equivalent experience

Certified Internal Auditor or equivalent experience preferred

Experience:

Experience in the financial services industry is preferred but not required

Skills and Abilities:

  1. Knowledge of accounting principles and regulatory environments
  2. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills are required
  3. The ability to communicate effectively with senior leadership and internal and external boards
  4. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams
