Qualifications:
The Wiring & Cabling Technician must be able to safely use hand held power tools, work at ladder height, and read house plans and other job site related documentation. Basic wiring and connectivity skills as it pertains to low voltage standards. Trouble shooting skills are essential. Basic computer skills with the ability to become competent in in house job management software. Attention to detail, particularly regarding key component placement & system wiring.
Objective: To provide excellent quality of installation & customer experience while meeting industry standards and completing assigned projects on time and under budget.
Summary of Position:
The Technician is responsible for installing and servicing products at customer’s job site. Organizing supplies, product and transportation of high value equipment to job site.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- The management of van stock and tools as well as van maintenance and appearance
- Meet with project manager to ensure timeline and expectations.
- Communicate effectively with and take direction from Lead Technicians and Project Manager
- Review sales order, product list and scope of work prior to deploying equipment
- Trim out speakers, CAT5/6, coax and camera placements
- Installation of in-ceiling/in-wall speaker installation
- Guardianship and preservation of client confidentiality and network/home security
- Communicate with Project Manager on schedule and expected completion dates
- Daily updates to project documentation and work orders in job management software
- Accurate time clock entries and job costing
- Make decisions and be held accountable to Time and Materials
- Local travel to job sites required
- Fiscal responsibility for all assets assigned and property within Technician’s care
- Guardianship and preservation of client confidentiality and network/home security
- Adherence to state and federal laws, including adherence to traffic laws
Additional Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry 60lbs
- May require standing or stooping for extended periods
- Ability to work in tight spaces & at ladder height
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and criminal background
