Job Summary

This position is responsible to inspect and make recommendations pertaining to plumbing requirements for commercial, industrial, and residential properties; review, process, and approve plumbing plans for commercial, industrial, and residential structures; and advise and provide information to builders, contractors, developers, and the general public regarding plumbing code compliance, permits, and inspection requirements. Work is performed for the City of Woodstock and other contracting municipalities. The work is performed under the direction of the Building & Planning Director.

Minimum Required Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent vocational/technical training in building construction or mechanical/structural engineering with a minimum of (3) years' experience as a licensed plumber or certified plumbing inspector; or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities.
  • Valid IL Plumbing License.
  • Valid IL Plumbing Inspector certification.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license and acceptable driving record for eligibility of City coverage.

Salary & Benefits

The position is a full time, non-exempt/hourly position. The starting pay rate will be $37.16/hour (~ $77,285.52 annually). Additionally, an excellent benefits package is provided including, but not limited to, group health insurance and IMRF pension.
