Job Summary: Executive Director- Springfield Branch Office (ED) provides the leadership, management and vision necessary to ensure that FAC has the proper operational controls, fundraising mechanisms, and people systems in place to effectively operate. The ED will promote FAC’s mission and is responsible for overseeing the administrative functions, budget management, program performance outcomes, workplace culture, and strategic planning of the Springfield branch office in partnership with the President of Regional Operations, CDO, COO and CEO. Other key duties include sustainable revenue generation and fund development success, marketing, and community outreach.  The position reports directly to the President of Regional Operations and works in partnership with the Springfield Advisory Board members.


Responsibilities: Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Administrative Leadership and Management

  • Provide effective and inspiring leadership and stewardship by being actively involved in all programs and services.
  • Responsible for staff satisfaction in the Springfield branch office and building cohesion between all branch offices.
  • Oversee the YouthConnect Center and Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project.
  • Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow and to proactively address concerns.
  • Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all internal and external processes.
  • Ensure branch operations are optimal and make adjustments as necessary from interactions and feedback from the agency’s Human Resources and ongoing Performance, Quality & Improvement processes.
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the Springfield office.
  • Partner with the President of Regional Operations and represent FAC with external constituency groups, including community, governmental and private organizations.
  • Ensure that all program activities operate consistently and ethically within the mission and values of FAC.
  • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of service improvement as identified by internal PQI process.
  • Contribute on an organizational level with a focus on agency culture, cultural competency, and performance improvement outcomes.
  • Recruit and oversee management of Springfield Advisory Board.
  • Attend and participate in all scheduled stakeholder meetings pertaining to community outreach, partnership development, and marketing.
  • Interact with all media outlets to promote FAC’s programs, services, and events.
  • Partner with Chief Development Officer and Springfield Development Director to ensure fundraising efforts are targeted and effective to meet agency goals.
  • Partner with Springfield Development Director to plan and execute effective fundraising efforts.
  • Oversee marketing and Public Relations activities in partnership with the Regional Marketing Manager and Springfield Development team.
  • Oversee grant proposals with Grants team.
  • Maintain frequent, effective, and open communication with direct supervisor regarding overall operation of the branch office and community development activities.


Strategic Planning and Program Management

  • Provide vital input in short- and long-term strategic and operational planning, evaluation and positioning within FAC.
  • Assist with the agenda and development of growth strategies for FAC.
  • Implement growth strategies.
  • Guide strategic planning for Springfield branch with Executive Leadership.

 

Financial Management

  • Assist in the preparation of all supervised  budgets, and achieve operational goals within approved budget.
  • Manage effectively within approved budget, and report accurately on progress made and challenges encountered.
  • Ensure the continued financial viability of FAC’s programs through sound fiscal management. Provide input to programmatic leadership for all strategic planning processes.
  • Meet annual fundraising goals through successful grant and funder soliciting.

 

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Master’s Degree (preferred) or Bachelor’s Degree, plus 3-5 years' experience working in non-profit setting providing senior leadership while supervising seasoned staff operating multiple service programs across a broad geography.
  • Experience creating and driving the analytic framework for planning and managing organizational change in a fast-growing organization.
  • Experience in fundraising, grant writing, and event management.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in setting priorities, proposing new ways of creating efficiencies, and guiding investment in people and systems.
  • Understanding of program development, implementation and evaluation is preferred.
  • Core understanding of governmental and private streams of funding for social service programs is preferred.
  • Experience with broader community policy development and implementation/systemic advocacy is a plus.
  • Solid commitment to the principles of support and advocacy for foster and adoptive families.
  • The ability to collaborate and advocate for positive outcomes, using excellent interpersonal skills in multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic professional teams.
  • Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. Must have ability to quickly establish rapport and build trust.
  • Flexible and a self-starter; able to multi-task while also being highly detail-oriented while meeting all deadlines.
  • Model ethical and professional behavior at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing meetings/professional memberships and trainings as required by the President/CEO.
  • Experience working with marginalized communities with a nuanced understanding of systemic oppressions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, able to shift styles to fit the needs of a wide range of cultures, people, and organizations.
