As Cost Analyst, Freight, you will support our finance department by meticulously planning, controlling, and analyzing our freight and inventory expenses. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting thorough reviews of data and documents to uphold the accuracy and integrity of our financial systems. Additionally, you will lead crucial reconciliation processes such as Inventory, Accrual, and Landed Cost reconciliations while serving as a dependable backup for accounts payable. This position is a remote position with travel up to 15% annually. Our headquarters is in Aurora, Colorado.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure timely freight and landed cost expense processing. 
  • Reconcile vendor accounts to statements and resolve billing discrepancies.
  • Balancing landed cost balance sheet accounts.
  • Reconciliation of inventory and accrual balance sheet accounts.
  • Freight expense reporting and analysis; creating and analyzing reports that support key metrics/KPIs and business insights.
  • Establish company Inventory Reserve.
  • Negotiate Tariff and shipping rates, ensure all rates are followed, resolve discrepancies with Freight carriers.
  • Give guidance to the organization's budgeting and FP&A processes.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive action around analysis & insights.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Adept at conducting research into product and service-related expenses
  • Ability to understand contracts and agreement
  • Strong negotiating skills  
  • Collaboration with other departments 
  • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
  • Able to perform moderately difficult assignments requiring alternative analysis, innovation and judgment
  • Ability to work with large sets of data to create and understand trends that affect operational and/or financial aspects of an organization.
  • Demonstrates excellent financial and quantitative skills
  • Learns quickly and has strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Acumatica (ERP) research abilities
  • Google Workplace tools: Sheets, Docs, Slides, Drive, Forms, Gmail
  • Knowledge of GAAP, Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, or related or minimum 5 years experience freight or inventory analysis

Physical Requirements

  • Remote position, but able to travel 15% of the time. 
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 pounds, occasional bending and reaching.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

Salary Range: $65-75K based on degree of experience
