Position Summary
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of workflow, processes, safety, and guiding and documenting behavior and performance of employees in the Shipping department. This position will ensure the completion of daily tasks in the Shipping department and complete smooth and effective pass downs from shift to shift. This position reports to the Warehouse Manager.

Essential Duties of the Shipping Supervisor include but are not limited to:

• Supervise Shipping personnel activities and workflow.
• Ensure all in-process shipments are complete, and shipping invoices are closed out.
• Send pass down reports to the management and production planning teams as directed by the Shipping Manager, as well as sending any relevant pass down information to the Shipping Clerks for the next shift.
• Assists Shipping Manager in issuing commendations, verbal/written warnings, and employee performance reviews.
• Once certified, responsible for forklift/powered equipment and safety training for Shipping employees
• Perform safety checks/inspection of the Shipping area.
• Support and initiate improvement projects including 5S projects, process improvement projects, layout optimizations, etc.
• Prepare Shipping area for each shift and participate in pre-shift meetings for both shifts.
• Conduct training and support development process of new and existing employees.
• Ensure that the facility is kept neat and orderly at all times.

Qualifications for the Shipping Supervisor include but are not limited to:

• Previous warehouse experience.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Previous experience with direct supervision of employees, including conducting performance reviews, coaching, and disciplinary actions.
• Ability and willingness to become certified to train forklift/power equipment operators.
• Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
• Ability to see projects and processes through to completion.
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, salaried non-exempt position. The salary range for this position is anticipated to be between $2,115.38 and $2,500.00 per bi-weekly payroll.
