Job Description:
The NOC Manager oversees a team of NOC engineers and is responsible for and owns the processes associated with Endsight’s private cloud, internal platforms and tools and systems used to provide monitoring, alerting, patching, and security for thousands of our client’ IT infrastructure, servers and endpoint devices.  The success of a NOC manager requires an obsession with building processes that both scale and drive efficiencies with an orientation of delivering value to our clients and internal staff.  The NOC manager reports to the VP of Operations and is key member of the Management team.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategy, Planning & Talent
  • The NOC Manager’s primary responsibility is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure stability and recoverability of customer's and Endsight’s infrastructure and data.
  • Provides overall expertise with all network operations functions.
  • Ability to define, implement and enforce configuration management and change management policies and practices.
  • Hire, develop, and retain highly responsive and customer focused engineers to ensure the effective operation of the department.
  • Evaluates technical skills of the team and ensures there is an appropriate level of expertise.
  • Provide procedural training to staff.
  • Perform performance objectives and performance reviews with all team members.
  • Lifecycle management of all internal hardware and systems, including our Private Cloud hosting environment.
  • Identify areas for process and efficiency improvement within the NOC; recommend prioritized enhancements and oversee implementation.
Private Cloud & Internal Support
  • Lead a team responsible for our Private Cloud hosting environment across 3 data centers to achieve the highest levels of security, scalability, performance, and resiliency.
  • Lifecycle management of all internal hardware and systems, including our Private Cloud hosting environment.
  • Development and ongoing validation of Endsight’s BCDR plan.
  • Inspire the highest level of customer service and support.
  • Ensure adherence to operational processes.
Monitoring, Alerting and Systems Administration
  • Lead the team responsible to deliver on the Endsight Promise of providing Sys Admin services in a proactive, visible, and efficient manner towards the ultimate goal of preventing problems before the occur.
  • Ensure all client’s backups are successful and verified.
  • Manage team to achieve SLO and defined KPIs related to alerting and monitoring, supported OS builds, 1st and 3rd party patching, and security and stability related firmware updates of over 15,000 Managed servers, endpoints, and networking devices.

Education, Skills, and ExpertiseFormal Education & Certification
  • An NOC manager requires at least a bachelor's or master's degree with qualifications in computer science, information technology and related fields.
Knowledge & ExperienceMore than 6 years' experience including:
  • EDR / MTR / SOC 
  • Expert knowledge of Virtualization using VMware & Hyper-V
  • Good knowledge of Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Clustering, Load Balancing, Anti-virus, backup procedures, Group policy, Disaster recovery and High availability using industry standards.
  • Network services experience is desired.
  • Experience with NIST and / or CIS controls
  • Strong scripting and automation skills 
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem solving
  • Excellent oral and written communication 
  • Time management
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team as well as independently 
  • Commitment to company values 
Valued but Not Required Skills and Experience:   
  • Managed Service Provider / IT Outsourcing serving at least 50 clients
  • CW 
  • Kaseya 
  • Experience with SIX Sigma or Lean methodology  
  • Experience with first- and third-party patching at scale 
  • Current engineering certifications:  MCSE/MCITP, CCNA, CSSA, CCA 
  • Experience with remote access environments
