Title: Quality Engineer
Department: Quality Control
Reports to: Senior Quality Manager
Location: Onsite, Hillsboro, OR
We are looking for a Quality Engineer who will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our products/services through the implementation of effective quality control measures. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in implementing quality management systems, conducting process audits, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across multiple stages of the production process.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality control procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with industry standards, customer requirements, and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections of manufacturing processes, raw materials, and finished products to identify areas for improvement and ensure adherence to quality specifications.
- Utilize statistical analysis tools and methodologies to analyze data, identify trends, and drive process optimization initiatives.
- Lead root cause analysis investigations for quality incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve quality-related issues and drive continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization.
- Provide training and guidance to production staff on quality standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Support new product development projects by establishing quality requirements and ensuring compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor and evaluate supplier performance to ensure the quality of incoming materials and components.
- Stay current with industry trends and developments in quality management systems and manufacturing processes.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Hands on experience with ISO 9001 or equivalent quality management systems and tools
- Strong understanding of quality control processes and methodologies.
- Familiarity with relevant quality standards and regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams.
- Demonstrated Project Management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering or equivalent in experience.
- 5+ years related experience in high-technology manufacturing, preferably semiconductor capital equipment or related industry.
- Experience with process auditing, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action methodologies.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- ASQ CQA, CQT or CQE certification, preferred.
- Experience driving continuous improvement through use of Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Experience with statistical analysis and quality tools (Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control).
- Knowledge of raw materials specifications surrounding stainless steel and cleanroom grade materials is a plus.
- Prolonged periods sitting, standing, or walking.
- Work conditions may include areas of restricted movement, air contamination, intense noise, and hazardous materials.
- Must be able to regularly lift 35 pounds.
