Job Title: RN Labor and Delivery

Location: Round Rock, Texas

Job Description: Join us in an extraordinary opportunity to be at the forefront of our hospital's expansion in Round Rock, Texas. As we gear up to open our doors on January 11, 2025, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of healthcare in our community.

Our expansion, spanning 165,000 square feet, will introduce a state-of-the-art patient tower to our Round Rock hospital, tailored to accommodate the evolving needs of our rapidly growing population. Among its highlights, the tower will house an innovative 11-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, alongside expanded capacities for crucial departments such as med/surg and labor and delivery.


Shift Details:


  • Shift Length: 12 hours
  • Days per Week: 3
  • Scheduled Hours: 36 hours per week
  • Shift Start Time: 07:00 PM
  • Shift End Time: 07:00 AM


Compensation:


  • Minimum Rate per Hour: $32
  • Maximum Rate per Hour: $53


Job Requirements:


  • Graduate of an Accredited Program of Nursing.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC), or obtained within 30 days of hire or transfer.
  • Preferred previous experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.

What You'll Do:


  • Conduct detailed clinical assessments, prioritize patient and family needs, create, implement, and evaluate care plans, and adjust plans to reach desired outcomes.
  • Build relationships, manage discomfort, and maintain professionalism in therapeutic connections with patients and families.
  • Create care plans reflecting values to aid in resolving issues.
  • Educate patients, families, nurses, and community members to empower them with knowledge for better healthcare choices, assessing and documenting learning needs regularly.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and community to create a care plan, delegate tasks carefully, and follow up promptly.
  • Use different strategies for problem-solving with patients, families, and staff, recognize limitations, and prioritize safety, effectiveness, and efficiency in patient care planning and delivery.
  • Achieve goals through teamwork, recognize contributions, and commit to growth, contributing to peers' development, and showing community service commitment.


What Will Make You Successful in the Role:


  • A deep understanding of nursing and patient care standards, as well as procedures.
  • Knowledge of nursing laws, rules, standards, and guidelines in your area, and understanding of hospital procedures and rules.
  • Proficiency in medical terms, focusing on health, disease prevention, management, common meds, and their side effects.
  • Respect for medical and professional nursing ethics and patient privacy rights.
  • Exceptional communication skills, allowing for clear expression of thoughts both verbally and in writing.
  • Positive social skills to facilitate interactions with a diverse range of parties.
  • Excellent problem-solving capabilities, driving effective critical thinking.
  • Basic computer skills, encompassing areas such as Microsoft Office, information security, scheduling and payroll systems, electronic medical documentation, and email.
