Welding Machine Operator

Welding Machine Operator - Primarily focused on welding, assembly, and some machining for metal fabricated components. This role reports directly to the Welding Department Manager

Responsibilities:

• Machine setup, operation, and maintenance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Ensure all safety and quality controls are always in place.
• Assist the Welding Manager in all continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
• Track individual production metrics daily
• Operate a forklift or pallet jack as needed
• Assist other departments in production when necessary
• Ensure best practices for fabrication (including welding, powder coating, etc.) and assembly are developed and improved for maximized throughput while ensuring safe production.
• Maintain a culture within the Plant that promotes safety, ethics, integrity, and individual accountability. Maintain a positive and achievement goal oriented working environment for all employees.
• Provide training, direction, and support to employees on their assigned job responsibilities.

Requirements:

• Ability to lift 50 pounds intermittently.
• Ability to lift 20 pounds repetitively.
• Mechanical aptitude a plus.
• Experience in a metal fabrication and/or CNC machine environment a plus.
• Experience implementing LEAN Manufacturing principles a plus.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
