We are seeking a Production Supervisor to lead our 3rd shift polymer production team. This crucial role ensures the quality and efficiency of our polymer production process. The Production Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of skilled operators, fostering a culture of safety and engagement, and ensuring production schedules are met. The essential functions of the Production Supervisor include:


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Daily Operations Management
    • Oversee shift assignments and prioritize production plans.
    • Address and resolve issues with completed batch sheets promptly.
    • Review and approve daily batch sheets and tickets.
    • Support utilization of MES process.
  2. Leadership and Communication
    • Resolve personnel issues by analyzing data, investigating problems, identifying solutions, and taking appropriate actions (training, written warnings, suspensions).
    • Communicate effectively with other supervisors and departments to ensure smooth operations.
    • Lead by example in supporting STI Polymer values, mission, and goals.
  3. Training and Development
    • Oversee the development of new team members.
    • Identify training needs and implement development programs for production staff.
    • Train, coach, and counsel production staff to enhance their skills and performance.
    • Utilize data, such as Predictive Index tools, to guide development and solve people challenges.
  4. Efficiency and Improvement
    • Monitor production efficiency and suggest improvements.
    • Implement best practices and innovative techniques to optimize operations.
  5. Safety and Compliance
    • Enforce strict safety guidelines and company standards.
    • Maintain a clean and safe plant environment, adhering to 5S standards.
    • Investigate any incidents or accidents within 24 hours and implement corrective actions.
    • Take immediate action to correct a known safety concern.
  6. Quality Control
    • Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organizational standards.
    • Ensure complete and accurate production paperwork, including batch sheets.
    • Support root cause analysis process
  7. Performance Management
    • Evaluate, provide feedback, and coach employee work performance through ongoing dialogue and formal review process. This will include both praise and addressing performance issues.
    • Identify and address causes for employee turnover.
  8. Equipment and Maintenance
    • Ensure the proper operation of equipment by coordinating repairs and evaluating new equipment and techniques.
Requirements:

  • Experience in a leadership role or demonstrated leadership experience
  • Proficient in MS Office suite: Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Organizational and leadership abilities
  • Proven ability to work on own initiative, problem solve and present potential solutions.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
